If staying in La Barra or Manantiales, you should be able to walk to the beach, shops, and restaurants. For shorter distances, an Uber or a taxi are always an option, and are available 24/7. For longer distances, like to a nearby town like Jose Ignacio or to a winery inland, you can arrange a car or van service a few hours in advance (contact details to come).

  • ATTIRE

The wedding attire is Formal. We recommend suits of any color and full length or tea-length dresses. The more color the better.

    WEATHER

February is summertime in Punta del Este, where the days are warm but the evenings are cool. Daytime temperatures are usually between 82 - 75°F (28 - 24°C), while at night it can drop to around 65°F (18°C). So, make sure to bring a swimsuit and sandals for the beach. But, you might want to bring a sweater for the nighttime just in case.

  • You are welcome to bring your young children. For babies, childcare will be provided during the reception. Kindly let us know if you plan on bringing additional little guests!

  • Tax Free for Tourists

Uruguay refunds sales tax on most things a tourist might spend on. Sales tax is refunded at restaurants, bars, canteens, coffee shops, etc. At these places, when using a foreign credit or debit car, the sales tax will be automatically deducted, which will be reflected in the bill. When shopping for clothes or gifts, ask the store if they do "tax free." (Most stores do. There will be a sign next to the register about it, and the cashier will usually ask you at checkout). They will ask for your passport number. When departing at the airport, there is an electronic kiosk where you collect your refund, which is sent to the card used to make the purchases.
